Umbra Fotofalls 18-Clip Desktop Photo Holder, NickelReviewsThis desktop photo holder was perfect. It was very affordable. I had seen similar products on line, at the pricier, yuppie stores, for at least three times as much. This was well made, and solidly constructed. Easy to twist together and looks great! I used this to display pictures at a birthday party. It worked perfectly! I now use it at our computer desk to display photos and a place to clip memos to. It is a sturdy, nice looking product that has a modern feel to it. This item is great for holiday cards - especially since people often send flat photo cards that do not stand on their own to be displayed. I also liked that it did not require me to hang it on a door or wall - as I already have wall art and there is no space for it. Timely arrival, in perfect condition, and easy to assemble. I made a display of our granddaughter's ballet photos, glass slippers, cards, etc. Get so many compliments! I purchased this product for my husband as a gift for him to put on his desk at work and he loves it! This was a wonderful idea and now he has several pictures of us and our children for him to look at and brag about at work. What a great product! Average Rating:![]() |

Frame for Picture Photo Diploma or Poster, Solid Wood, Black, style #601ReviewsI am very pleased with this product and company. I ordered two 12X18 frames. One broke during shipping. I emailed the company and had 2 replacements with in a week. No problems or questions asked. I will buy from them again when I comes to my framing needs. Thank you!! The frame is beautiful. The quality was above and beyond what I had expected. The item arrived exactly when they stated it would. I will order from them again. The two frames I recieved (Imperial Frame brand) were 12x18. They seemed nice enough, well made and solid. But after pulling back the little clips and removing the glass, the glass would not go back in. Now I'm not a clumsy hamfisted guy, and I tried carefully as I could to get it in. With barely a push, the glass from the first frame broke in a corner. Not wanting to make the mistake again with the second, I tried ever ever so delicately to push the glass back in. Not only did this one break even easier, but when trying to get the glass out, the shard CUT my poster. So not only am I out the thirty bucks from both frames, but it cut my 20 dollar poster. It has been a long time since I was so frustrated. Maybe others have better luck than I, but I would not recommend buying these frames. Product was delivered with no problems, frames were packed with plenty of bubble wrap, pleased with product. Will purchase more in future. I bought some original posters from a freelance artist while back. Wanting to frame them i went to several local stores. None had frames in the correct size. So, when i found these online, i was very excited. The design is nothing fancy, but it happened to match three other frames i had bought locally. They arrived in prime condition, and very quickly. 10 minutes later, both my original works were hanging on my wall. Definitely recommend seller and product. If i happen across more artwork, i'll buy from here again! Average Rating:![]() |

Jim Croce Photographs & Memories: His Greatest HitsReviewsGreat collection of classics by Jim Croce. Highly recommend it. This collection contains all the hits that got Jim Croce so deservedly on AM radio in the early 1970s. Those fantastic singles were packed with both humor and sensativity, and provided an unparraelled genuineness in an era too full of "singer songwritters" either getting too heavy, or trying too deliberately to craft a sensitive pose. "Bad Bad Leroy Brown," "Time In A Bottle," any of these tracks have all the above qualities, and fantastic backing musicians that made Croce's music the best in the genre. Listen to how on "Operater," he tells his sad story to the only one who will listen, and makes you feel you are the one at the other end of the phone. BUT! this collection is in no way all you need to know about Jim. All his ABC abums were packed end to end with this high calabre, and you should seek all of them out. If you are lucky and smart enough to have a turntable, you can probably get the entire ABC catolouge for under five dollars on vynal. Enjoy the thick spines, heavy cardboard, getefolds, and cover gloss smell. Enjoy the brillant black and rainbow label, back from when you could feel the weight and quality you got when you laid down a fiver for a nice piece of wax. Jim Croce Photographs & Memories: His Greatest Hits has some truly unforgettable songs by one of the greatest singer-songwriters of the twentieth century, Jim Croce. Although I would have liked an extra song or two, the material we get on this album is superlative in every way. Jim never sounded better and that's excellent. Jim's artistry shines bright and he lives on through his music. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is nice even if it is somewhat standard for this CD series. "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" starts the track set with Jim Croce performing at his very best--this tune is well written, Jim sings it flawlessly and it's as catchy as anything, too! The rhythm is just right and the piano works wonders for this number. There's just a bit of background vocals on "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and this extra effect works very well. "Operator (That's Not the Way It Feels)" explores the feelings a man has after a love has gone wrong; this ballad gets a very sensitive treatment from Jim and I'm impressed. Similarly, "Photographs and Memories" is truly special; this tune features Jim effortlessly handling complex tempo and key changes like the pro he was and always will be! "Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy)" is catchy, too. "Time in a Bottle" is a song Jim wrote for his son A.J.; this tender love song stuns me with its beauty and it could never go out of style. Yes! "New York's Not My Home" sounds like a not so friendly reply to Billy Joel's "New York State Of Mind;" and "Workin' at the Car Wash Blues" has a country flavor to it that works well for this ballad. "Workin' at the Car Wash Blues" sounds so good when Jim Croce performs it to perfection and it's a major highlight of this album. "I Got A Name" is proud, upbeat and rather masculine--and it all holds its own very well. "I Got A Name" also has a lush musical arrangement; Jim sings this wonderfully. Terrific! "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song" is a tender portrait of a man expressing his love for his woman; and "You Don't Mess Around with Jim" is another stunner that comes on strong, grabs you by the throat and never lets go! "Lover's Cross" is not exactly the happiest of songs but the melody is very pretty nonetheless; and "One Less Set of Footsteps" pretty much runs along the same lines. The CD ends with "These Dreams" and "Roller Derby Queen;" Jim sings "Roller Derby Queen" with panache and this final number also sports a very catchy beat. Jim Croce gave so much of himself and he always dug deep into his songs to make each one shine bright. We are blessed that he shared his talent with us. This is highly recommended for the Jim Croce fan; but fans who have these tunes already may want Jim Croce box sets available for sale on this website. The more casual fans or the newcomer to Jim Croce's artistry will enjoy this album for years to come. I have been searching for this exact CD for ages. All of the old original hits are here. Somebody was right. I'm the casual Jim Croce fan and this is all I need. Bad Bad Leroy Brown and Don't Mess Around With Jim are my favorites of course. And I do like Time In A Bottle. Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo StarrReviewsAn entertaining CD featuring the likeable Beatle. (I would have said "starring," but that would have been redundant.) An upbeat, energetic collection, perhaps with the exception of track 5, with even a Buck Owens moment thrown in. Ringo was entertaining in "A Hard Day's Night," and downright hilarious in "Help." So, stick "Photograph into your CD player and enjoy! I have always liked the song Photograph and saw Ringo perform it at a concert in the Joint at Hard Rock in Vegas. I lost my husband a year ago and now this song really hits home. Thanks Ringo !!!! Your the best. Excellent collection. All the Ringo you want-PLUS a DVD! "It Don't Come Easy" is still my favorite song of all time-coming from a Metal-Head. The DVD is pretty awful because the videos are very old, grainy, dark, odd and a slice of life(35 yrs. ago):except the first video is a big production of "Sentimental Journey" with a very adorable Ringo solo on a big stage and a little Fred Astaire dance number with professionals-very lovely and...adorable. Worth the money? Yes. I am very very happy with this CD songs. Especially if you like Ringo music. I will repeat buying another CD from Amazon.com. I requested the CD on a Thursday or Friday, I am not exactly sure. On Tuesday the following week it arrived in the mail. What a pleasant surprise to get it so quickly. The condition of the CD was listed as Good but I think it was Very Good, it was almost like new. Thank you for outstanding service on this product. I would definitely buy from you again. Morelenbaum (2)/Sakamoto: Casa (Tribute to Jobim)ReviewsA recording devoted to the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim might seem a strange thing to find on Sony Classical, but that is what we have here, and it is a marvelous, magical, magnificent recording. Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto is the trio of Paula Morelenbaum, voice; Jaques Morelenbaum, cello; and Ryuichi Sakamoto, piano. This basic trio is augmented on several of the cuts by some other musicians, and much of the music was recorded in the late Antonio Carlos Jobim's home in Brazil, with Sakamoto playing Jobim's piano. The idea of a cello in Jobim's music might seem a bit odd, but Jaques Morelenbaum brings a singing quality to his playing that sounds just right for this music. Paula Morelenbaum sings mostly in Portuguese, partly in English, and always with a real feel for this music. Sakamoto at times reminds us of Jobim's one- and two-finger style of playing, but at times plays with a rich and full style. If you are at all a fan of bossa nova in general or the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim in particular, you really must get this recording. Making it was clearly a labor of love for all involved; "Tom" would surely approve. If you like the unique Antonio Carlos Jobim interpreted by an A+ group, buy this CD. All the pieces are good. Romantic, nostalgic, just beautiful. I wonder how much Brazilian music all the people who rave about this album actually listen to. This is a mediocre performance of some classic songs that doesn't really capture Jobim's feel at all. For me, the cello playing is what really hurts this album. Instead of capturing the beauty and sensuality of the music, it sounds more disturbed angry and avantgarde. It simply doesn't blend well with the music. There's even an awful cello iprov piece that sounds like nails on a chalk board. Though they are quite nice, Paula Morelenbaum's vocals do not eclipse Astrid Gilberto's, as one reviewer suggested. Much of this recording comes off as pompous and stuffy, and would most likely appeal more to classical music listeners than people who love música brasileira. If you like Bossa Nova, you'll enjoy this CD as well as me, great musicians, delicate voice, and wonderfull arrangements! My Profile: 43 yo - no music qualifications whatsoever- I got this fine cd last year in my first time in Buenos Aires.. though my trip was for widenning my musical horizons.. what can I said that has not been adequately commented by more knowledable reviewers than I?.. the music is serene, celestial, non-strident...he piano, the cello and that voice!! you know you are prividledged in life to have a chance to comtemplate on this type of beauty... whatever scars we have in the soul and body, take a moment to soothe yourself.. Art - Michaelangelos David Statue - Light Switch Covers - single toggle switchReviewsI have this made out of cardboard (like a postcard) and everyone thinks it's too funny!!! Even my super-conservative mother-in-law had to laugh. I ordered this since it is more durable, but I hope it doesn't have the logo on it (like the sample photo), the one I have now does not. I will update this review...poorly, if they add some product name to the front. UPDATE: got this and no, it doesn't have the name printed on it (thank goodness) BUT, the image on my plate is kind of pink, not really black and white, like it looks on the photo for the product. Plus, my old cardboard one is bigger, and the ummm...switch...looks more proportional. Maybe bigger is better, though for some! ha ha Average Rating:![]() |

Fairy Tale - A True StoryReviewsThis movie is heartwarming and will have you clapping your hands with belief for the girls glorious fariries! GREAT family entertainment, great for folks who love the "old country" and those who just love a good tale = ) Beautiful scenery, fantastic story...WONDERFUL for young and older or even old alike!!! I ordered this previously from one of Amazons partners called Supermart. Unfortunately after a MONTH it never arrived, Amazon refunded my money and I ordered it straight though them, not caring about saving a buck anymore. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition as always. Its a very cute movie for fairy lovers. "Fairy Tale, A True Story" is a fairly accurate, if superficial, re-telling of the events that took place in Yorkshire just after the Great War in the last Century. Did the little girls really photograph fairies? With excellent special effects and high production values, this is a good film for both parents and children, and one that allows you to make up your own mind about the "little people" and their kind. The famous conflict between Conan-Doyle and Houdini is lightly glossed over, but is still credibly presented. The cast is uniformly excellent and believeable and the period re-creation is accurate enough, even for this pernickety viewer. A wonderful movie about Two young girls who take photos of Fairies down behind their home. The scenery, cinematography and the introduction of famous people of the time round out the movie beautifully. Great for all ages This movie is awesome. If you were ever a child (which we all were,)this movie reminds me of how it use to be. The innocence of being a child in an adult world. It also reminds you of what can happen when the innocence is taken away. I recommend this movie to anyone of any age. Average Rating:![]() |

Dear America - Letters Home from VietnamReviewsThis was a request for Christmas from a graduating history teacher, he wanted to be able to teach from a more knowledgeable position, being from that era I feel students need to be aware how much we service people gave. Great use of words, images, and music to help illustrate the change in attitude of the American public on the subject of our involvement in the war in Vietnam. Takes us from sending in "advisors" in 1960, to the Tet Offensive in 1968, to the Fall of Saigon in 1975, to the Vietnam Memorial in the early 1980s. -- Simply the best! This is a must have movie. Use your surround sound system and jam this movie. It will blow you away. The music along with the spoken letters of the men and women who were on the line will leave chills running through your body. No matter how you think and feel about the war in Vietnam, you will remember this movie forever. This documentary is one of a few that show us how it truly was during that time period.I would recomend it highly. This is a great film which goes through the whole Vietnam conflict. It hits the highlights of the conflict with the use of letters from the soldiers, music, and real film footage. My students find this movie to be powerful even though it is one of the last topics that is discussed in class for the year. There are some swear words (I always warn the kids in advance) but in the context of the letters the students understand why they are there. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants a good overview of Vietnam. Average Rating:![]() |

Printworks Matte 8-1/2 x 11-Inch Photo Paper 50 Sheets (00471)ReviewsExtremely fast shipping. Paper was packaged excellent so that it would not get bent in shipping. Very impressed. I will never buy photo paper in the store again. I'll just order it! I returned this product because it was fraudulently, incorrectly and, I feel, purpousely misrepresented as it was described totally wrong. It was not "Premium" paper. I am an ameteur photographer and digital imager and know print paper and PrintWorks makes some excellent paper and I feel they would be disgusted with the fact that their product was mis-listed. In reporting my disappointment to Amazon I was treated like an idiot when I opposed their part in such a transaction. I did have some unkind words while communicating with the Amazon representative because she acted like "Ha,Ha' I've got your information and there's nothing you can do about it. I shall never work with Amazon again because they support unnacceptable merchandizing and then treat the buyer with disdain. Ruth P OConnor, Merrimack, NH Printworks Premium Matte 8-1/2 x 11-Inch Photo Paper 50 Sheets (00471) I have used this for both photos and, more recently, to print jewel-case inserts (album covers) for CDs. The CD covers are a combination of photo, color background, and text. The quality is excellent and matte is a good choice for this application. I am using an off-the-shelf Brother MFC-440n, which is a little painful speed-wise, but it likes this paper and so long as you properly set your print parameters in the pop-up panel, you don't experience the darkening that another reviewer complained about. I have also used the 2-sided capability in general photo printing. There are absolutely no bleed-through issues and since ink dries very fast on this paper, it is really convenient for this use. Excellent paper at an attractive price. The greatest photo paper ever made: according to my mother in law, who lives in northern Michigan -- and her Walmart discontinued selling it. So- Amazon I turned to you and you did not disapoint. The price was awesome as well. 4 stars based primarily on high value; I'm always looking for a photo paper with very high image quality (usually matte) at a low price for common printing but not long term retention (use best glossy papers for that). This paper prints on par with the best Canon matte that I've frequently used, and some good Kodak and HP papers in the past. But, the shipping quality is generally poor; one package of 7 bent so much I returned it; only 3 of the other 6 were in perfect condition. Also, only 2 of the 6 packs were clearly finished equally well on both sides for true double sided printing. For the other 4, there was clearly a "back" side of lesser quality -- erratic quality in terms of double siding, but I only print one side ever. The "side 1" quality with coating I'd call very consistent and prints very nicely, hence at this price I would buy again. But any more damaged in shipping, I'll return each of those from now on back to Amazon (at least the return label provided gives free return shipping for damaged product). But if you're looking for 2 sided printing, my experience so far is hit or miss on that. Average Rating:![]() |

Pennsylvania Waterfalls: A Guide For Hikers And PhotographersReviewsI keep this book in the car for our travels around Pennsylvania - just in case we're near a waterfall. Directions and explanations for each fall are clear - as well as things to watch out for - private land, inaccessibility problems, etc. Great resource. Very good guide to all the photogenic spots in the entire PA as opposed to only specific parts of PA. There is very in depth suggestions for the serious photographers (of which I am not) that "point and shoot" photographers are really not going to use, but can at least use his recommendations for site location for the scene. I found the rating system very useful to help me decide which hikes were worth my time seeing on limited time. See also: Pennsylvania Mountain Vistas: A Guide for Hikers and Photographers Really well written, beautifully photogaphed, and easy to understand guide, I absolutely love this. He tells you everything you need to know in order to get great shots at significant PA waterfalls. I'm a PA transplant currently living in Atlanta and bought this book for my trip next week. There's tons of falls I've never seen or heard of listed in the guide. I typically go to Ricketts Glenn every time I return home but im going to some of these other spots instead on this trip. BTW, his self portriats are really funny. Pennsylvania Waterfalls is an excellent book on waterfalls in the Keystone state. While he doesn't cover every known falls in PA, Scott Brown hits almost all of the major, publicly accessible waterfalls. His inclusion of GPS coordinates, maps, and written directions makes them very easy to find (in most cases). His skill as a photographer is readily apparent throughout the entire book, and his insight into the composition of and equipment used for each picture should aid budding photographers. The book is well written, well researched, and covers a subject that's of interest to many but rarely published. I did find a number of mistakes in the GPS coordinates and/or written driving directions to some of the falls, however. As a geocacher, I rely on accurate coordinates to find locations and in one instance I couldn't find the falls mentioned in the book. East Branch falls in Sullivan County wasn't in the location described by the book; it was actually 4/10ths of a mile away. The book's map was accurate but the coordinates and driving directions were not, and I missed out seeing that waterfall when I was in the area since I ran out of time hunting for it. Other falls where I've found the coordinates to be incorrect in the book include Second Falls, Logan Falls, and Seven Tubs. Still, in a book of 50+ falls, a few mistakes are bound to slip through. Unless you're using a GPS to navigate as I do, you'd probably never even notice most of these mistakes. Even with the few errors, this book is extremely valuable for waterfalls hunters. I've added it to my own library, and I'd recommend anyone in the Keystone state with an interest in the magnificent beauty of falling water do the same. Well written, put together so we could easily choose which hikes were for us. Excellent directions to some outstanding out of the falls. I can't rate this book highly enough. Just got back from our trip which this book planned. Bob (Southern Illinois) Average Rating:![]() |
