Nice set for a beginner. I am not a beginner but I wanted a cheap travel easel and that's exactly what I got. The easel is great, and I love the tote that came with it. Only problem is the tote was already torn when I got it out of the box. Not to hard to sew back up though. Came with so much for the price. Like I said, a wonderful gift for a beginning artist. The palette is flimsy. But the brushes and paint isn't bad. Also, came with two small, but nice, canvas's. It lost a star for being cheap and torn when I got it. But you get what you pay for. I love it though!

The setup is pretty good for the people just starting out. The easel is really nice.

My mother and I bought this gift for my daughter for Christmas. She was impressed with everything that fit inside the caring case and we aer impressed with its quality. Thank you.

I bought this as a starting point for learning oils. And while the kit got me going, I quickly learned enough about oil supplies to where if I could do it all again, I may have chosen differently. The paints come in 12ml tubes(1/3 of the size of standard studio tubs) and in my experience were much drier than other oils I have purchased which made them alot harder to work with. I've also since changed out the palette, palette knife(the included plastic is bad) and many of the brushes. The included easel is VERY nice as is the tote. All in all, if you are looking to try oils, I think this is a great starting point at a good price(just get some linseed oil for the paints). Just expect to want to swap some stuff out as you go along.

I bought this for my niece in college. It arrived very quickly and is ideal for use in her college dorm. The desktop easel is perfect and she was thrilled with the carrying case. I couldn't have picked a better gift for her. Thanks!

This was for our 15 year old whom is getting an interest in art. She loves the color assortments as well as all the supplies that came with it. Would have like better instructions on how to clean brushes, ect, but we were skilled enough to show her.

I did receive this order in good time but the wood case fell apart when i opened it, the wood was also cracked in several places that i dont think could have been done by shipment. The painting set was nice but i wanted a nice carrying case to go with so i sent it back. I was not very impressed.

This is a very nice starter set. Comes with alot of good brushes and quality paint.

it's professional but there are some essential things like a palette should've been the case added.

These just arrived for a Christmas present. If it didn't cost so much to send them back, that is exactly what I'd do. These should sell for a dollar at a dollar store. And the "Also include a 10-cup w/ thumb hole palette" is not included. Shame on me for not reading the previous reviews.

i bought these paintbrushes because i had a last-minute project to complete for a class, and they did the job. they are not high-quality though; you get what you pay for. it drives me nuts when paintbrushes leave loose hairs on my work, and these definitely do that!

good in that i recieved them in less than two days, for 10$, but they are very cheaply made, bristles started coming off during first use.

This Bob Ross dvd helped me to see what I was doing wrong, so that I could fix my mistakes and learn how to make simple changes to any picture that I wanted to paint.

As a Bob Ross student, and now a certified instructor, I have learned a great deal from this 3 hour DVD. I think it is important as a teacher of this technique to get it right, and this DVD tackles several elements in Bob's paintings...sky, water, trees, and more. I recommend it to all of my students, and believe that anyone who is serious about painting like Bob should own this DVD. This is an excellent introduction to Bob Ross's unique style of oil painting. It shows five or six techniques for painting each of the major elements of Bob's landscapes, and is highly recommended for new or even fairly experienced painters. There are some things I wish were included ... paint qualities and color mixing for example, but watching and following along with each example should give a most excellent background to Bob Ross style painters.

I purchased this for my 8yr old daughter for christmas. She wants to be an artist when she grows up & this has great teaching techniques for her to learn from.

All but a few chapters of this product arived in good contidion. There were multiple scratches on the cd but only one was unable to be salvaged. It only removed the final chapter from view, which was a dedication to Ross and not part of the instructional video.

This the first thomas dvd I introduce to my son when he was almost 3 and even today at 4 1/2 age my son love this dvd more than all the other thomas dvds.

This new dvd is the second season 10 dvd and the final season 9 dvd so as you can probably tell this is a combination of season 10 and season 9 Thomas and the Treasure(season 10)- It's about when Salty tells Thomas James and Emily a story about Pirate Treasure Thomas Sets off to find it It is okay can be boring at times but great for little kids if they like stories about pirate treasure Duncan's Bluff (Season 10)- James and Duncan have to deliver coal and they have a contest to find out who can deliver coal the fastest and Duncan decides to hide his coal cars but after he makes James work so hard that he runs out of coal Duncan thought badly about what he had done pretty good the moral is that its not good to lie and anyone can be really useful in their own way Skarloey the Brave (Season 9)- After an incident with some coal cars skarloey tries to prove that he is the bravest so he tries to go up the winch but it breaks skarloey feels bad cause now the villigars wont be warm so he decides to deliver the coal himself So-so the moral of the story is that be responsible is much better than being brave Big Strong Henry (Season 10)- Gordon says the henry is not strong after being chosen to deliver supplies for farmer mc coll but everyone tries to cheer Henry up by calling him Big Strong henry but they make Henry get carried away and cause some hay trucks to get smashed but when henry is clearing them away Gordon looses the cows so henry decides to help out by getting them to follow the hay to their new shed so henry is very helpful and clever Henry the moral of the story is don't get carried away about what people call you just be yourself nice episode and nice moral Thomas Day Off (Season 9)- When Thomas has a day off he meets Dennis the new diesel and Dennis tricks by doing most of his work by lying but when Dennis does get into trouble no one is there to help Introduces Dennis the lazy Diesel the moral of the story is that is better if you do your work and not make lies to get someone to do it for you Seeing the Sights (Season 10)- Thomas has to take some visitors to show them around the island he gets impatient when Gordon tells him he can show them more place than Thomas can. Thomas gets so impatient he leaves all of visitors behind at each place. The moral of the story is be patient with people don't rush them If your kid likes Thomas and you want them to learn about being responsible and patiences and enjoy hearing a story about treasure then i guess this would be the dvd for you!

I have been working hard to learn this style of painting. He goes over stuff that he can't get in on the series but also a lot of stuff you may already know. By far the best part of this video is the last segment it's about fixing mistakes. He paints a painting and fixes mistakes made and it's absolutely wonderful. I duplicated it and produced my first decent painting. I actually put it on facebook and 2 of my friends (I only have 50 on there and I'm not sure how many people saw it) offered to buy it within 2 hours. So yeah I quadrupled my money back with this DVD, Thanks Bob. But I didn't have the heart to sell my first decent painting. Hope this helps

This video is great for someone who wants to learn about oil painting and what is needed to get started. It teaches you about the basic equipment and materials and then teaches you how to use them in your painting. It begins with teaching you about what is needed to prime your canvas and how to do it, then progresses to how to use the various sizes and shapes of brushes in a multitude of ways to create amazing effects such as trees, waves, waterfall, reflections, mountain peaks and snow on mountain tops and snow on trees, logs, buildings, etc. Bob Ross teaches you how to use various knives to create amazing effects, and how to mix and blend the paints on your pallet and also on canvas. It's a great basic video to get someone who is beginning from scratch about what to buy and how to use what to buy.

I cancelled my order because it wasn't a DVD, only in VHS version, which is what I wanted.

I found this video very helpful in getting started. Because if you think about it, you have to start somewhere and that should be the beginning. This video helped me to know what tools, oil color paints and everything that I would need, so that i could go out and buy them. Without the right tools, you can't do anything. He shows and explains the tools you need in the video in order to create a painting. Then he also shows you some basic easy featues, such as how to make trees, skies, water, clouds, shrubs, mountains and even a shed after going into detail of priming the canvas, which is one of the most important things you need to know to create any of his paintings. Enough said! This is the perfect beginner's video for anyone of any age!

It is what it is.. getting started with his wet on wet technique. what better way to explain it then to show you the tools needed. It may be 30 minutes, but it will show you how to use his products to create your own masterpiece

I was quite disappointed with this tape. Almost half the tape is just a promotion of the products that Bob Ross has on the market. It started out okay with the basics of oil painting, but he doesn't even start and finish one painting. I would not recommend this to anyone. The sad thing is that Bob Ross was such a talented artist. I guess I'll try and buy one of the other tapes that he advertises on the one that I bought.

Works great and makes the wood look much deeper. So far, I have used it on redwood and red oak. It both cases the finish is very beautiful and exactly what I was looking for.
